More than a telephone number, 311 is your direct connection to important municipal services and information. There are three customer service centre locations in the Halifax region. You can also contact 311 by phone, regular mail, online service requests, or email (contactus@311.halifax.ca).

- Effective July 16, 2024, 311's auto-reply emails will come from: noreply@ccspcloud.com.
- Email attachments exceeding a total of 9MB cannot be received by 311. You can zip your file and attach that zipped file to your email.

After-hour urgent service for:
- road maintenance issues such as sinkholes, traffic light problems, and street obstructions
- plumbing or electrical issues at municipal facilities
- animal services like an injured or found dog, or an aggressive animal
- illegally parked vehicles
