Protecting open space is a core value for Halifax citizens and a primary objective of the 2014 Regional Plan. Regional Council has identified the need for a strategic vision and framework to protect and manage open space. The Halifax Green Network Plan will achieve that goal.
As the first major deliverable of the Halifax Green Network Plan, the State of the Landscape Report: Issues and Opportunities provides an overview of the key open space values, issues, and opportunities that will influence the development of the HGNP.
Last spring we gathered more than 9,000 comments and ideas on issues of importance for the future open space network. That feedback was the first step. Now we need your help to shape the planning directions. Deadline to fill out our online survey is May 15!
What is open space? Why is it important? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions to better understand the goals of the Green Network Plan.
Try out the NEW online map tool. Provide your input before May 15 by commenting on the latest Halifax Green Network Plan maps.
