The Municipality offers a number of opportunities ranging from cultural partnership opportunities, to professional and volunteer opportunities. The municipality often requests proposals for culture-related intitiatives. These include feasability and needs assessment studies, reviews, inventories, discussion papers, public art commissions, specialized consulting services, and employment opportunities.

Peer Assessment *NEW in 2017/2018

Grants to Professional Arts Organizations Program

New to the Program in 2017/2018, the Grants to Professional Arts Organizations Program will be reviewed through a volunteer peer assessment process. If you are a member of Halifax's arts community and are interested in being added to the Municiple roster of peer assessors please review and respond to the Call for Expressions of Interest.

Documents related to the Peer Review Process will be posted here once finalized. At present, all details related to the role of peer assessors in relation to the Grants Program may be found in the Administrative Order linked above.

Information Sharing

The Municipality maintains an email-based distribution list where groups can post their upcoming activities and events, the latest cultural news and all that is culture-related in the region.
