Police Report February 7, 2012
GO #12-20084 - Robbery -
At 9:24 p.m., police responded to an armed robbery in progress at the Esso Service Station, 174 Ochterloney Street in Dartmouth. Information was received from an eye-witness at the business that two men were involved in the incident. Police set up containment in the surrounding area and approximately nine minutes after receiving the 9-1-1 call, patrol officers arrested two male suspects. Two Dartmouth men, both 40-years of age, have been held for court to facing a number of charges including robbery and weapons related offences. Cash and cigarettes stolen during this incident were recovered by police. No one was injured during this incident.
GO #12-19564 - Assist Other Agency - At 1:45 a.m., police assisted Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency with a fire at a business at 1225 Bedford Highway. The building was unoccupied and the fire was eventually extinguished. The cause of the fire isn't known at this time. The Bedford Highway between Meadowlark Drive and Sullivans Hill Road was shut down for a period of time.
