This page lists Halifax Transit service adjustments, including adjustments related to permanent stop relocations and consolidations, scheduling adjustments, and other long-term service changes.

Service Changes - Effective November 18, 2024
As of November 18, 2024, Halifax Transit will implement bus service changes to two routes and introduce a new Express route related to the Moving Forward Together Plan (MFTP), Halifax Transit’s long-term plan to better align the transit network with the needs of Halifax residents now and into the future.
Beginning November 18, 2024, Route 1 Spring Garden will service Gottingen St. in both directions. Route 1's schedule will also be updated to reflect the new routing and to improve on-time performance.
Beginning November 18, 2024, improved Route 10 A/B/C Dalhousie will be introduced, providing better and higher frequency service to destinations in Dartmouth. This modified route will replace Route 10 Dalhousie.
Route 10 A/B/C will provide service between:
- 10A Dalhousie – Bridge Terminal
- 10B Dalhousie – Micmac Terminal
- 10C Dalhousie – Westphal

Beginning November 18, 2024, a new Express route, Route 192 Hemlock Ravine, will provide weekday service during peak travel periods between neighbourhoods near Larry Uteck Blvd. east of Highway 102 and downtown Halifax.

Service Reductions in Effect Until Further Notice
Beginning Monday, February 27, 2023, Halifax Transit temporarily suspended service on three bus routes, and made schedule adjustments to 32 routes.
Effective November 20, 2023, Halifax Transit increased service due to progress made in improving staffing levels. Approximately one-quarter of the previously reduced service was reinstated. Specifically, a total of 26 routes had 55 trips reinstated, with 12 of these routes returning to full service. The following routes had trips reinstated:
Ferry and Access-A-Bus services are not impacted by these service reductions and are expected to continue as scheduled.

Passengers on Routes 51A and 51B are directed to new Stop Princess Margaret Blvd. Before Hudson Way (2332). This new stop will be located after the intersection of Princess Margaret Blvd and the Mackay Bridge Highway 111 Exit ramp, near the location of discontinued Stop 8076.

On Monday, November 18, 2024, Stops Macdonald Bridge Ramp At Barrington St (7150) and North St After Brunswick St (7343) will be discontinued.
Passengers on Routes 2, 5, 10A, 10B, and 10C are directed to new Stop Barrington St Before Artz St (2333). This new stop will be located on Barrington St. near Civic 2577 Barrington St.
