Application by Sightline Planning and Approvals, on behalf of the property owner, requesting to construct a 14-storey mixed-use building at 143 and 153 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. 

Proposal

The applicant wishes to construct a mixed-use building. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:

  • Two 14-storey towers on a shared podium, as viewed from Sackville Drive.
  • Two levels of underground parking, along with a surface parking lot located at the rear of the property.
  • Approximately 301 residential units and 12,009 square feet of ground floor commercial space.
  • Vehicular access off Hillcrest Drive.

The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to the proposed buildings, parking locations, driveway access, planning rationale, and landscaping.

Process

The application will be considered under the Development Agreement process.

Status

Currently this application is at the review team stage of the process where the request is reviewed by internal municipal staff from Development Engineering [including Traffic Services], Land Development & Subdivision, HRM Fire Protection Services, HRM Transit, as well as externally by Nova Scotia Power and Halifax Water.

Once the team review stage is complete, the application will move forward to public consultation. Additional details about this stage of the planning process will be shared at a later date.
