NOTICE OF APPROVAL
DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
TAKE NOTICE THAT a Development Officer of Halifax Regional Municipality did, on Friday, January 31, 2025, approve the Amending Development Agreement to allow additional time for commencement of construction and completion of an 8-storey multi-unit building on a municipally registered heritage property at 2267 Brunswick Street, Halifax.
There is no ability to appeal the decision of the Development Officer to the Nova Scotia Utility Review Board in accordance with the provisions of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.
Request
Lydon Lynch, on behalf of the property owner, has applied for non-substantive amendments to the existing development agreement at 2267 Brunswick Street, Halifax to extend the amount of time to commence and complete the approved development by 2 (two) years.
Proposal
The applicant is requesting non-substantive amendments to the existing development agreement to extend the time limits for commencement of development and completion of development at 2267 Brunswick Street in Halifax. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
- Extend time for commencement by two (2) years from the date of registration; and
- Extend time for completion by two (2) years from the date of the approved development agreement.
The approved development agreement (provided below) outlines the development proposal in detail, and includes information related to:
- Allows for an 8-storey residential addition to an existing building at 2267 Brunswick Street;
- Permits the tower portion of the building to be no higher than 26.67 m (87.5 ft);
- Requires amenity space no less than 46.45 square meters (500 square feet);
- Requires a minimum of 111.48 square meters (1200 square feet) of landscaped area on the lot;
- Allows a maximum of 42 residential units; and
- Requires a minimum of 4 parking spaces at the 1st level (parking) of the multiple unit residential building.
Process
The application will be considered under the Non-substantive Amendments to a Development Agreement application process.

TAKE NOTICE THAT a Development Officer did, on Friday, January 31, 2025, approve the following:
PLANAPP 2024-03195 - Application by Lydon Lynch Architects Ltd., on behalf of AMK Barrett Investments Inc., to amend an existing development agreement to allow additional time for commencement of construction and completion of an 8-storey multi-unit building on a municipally registered heritage property at 2267 Brunswick Street, Halifax.
There is no ability to appeal the decision of the Development Officer to the Nova Scotia Utility Review Board in accordance with the provisions of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.
Documents Submitted for Evaluation
The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by HRM staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office in Downtown Halifax.
