Legislation passed in 2022, Statutes of Nova Scotia, c. 13, section 14 suspends Planning Advisory Committees for three (3) years effective April 22, 2022.

At their May 30, 2017 meeting Halifax and West Community Council changed the name and terms of reference of District 7 and 8 Planning Advisory Committee to add a portion of District 9. The new name of the committee is Halifax Peninsula Planning Advisory Committee.
The Halifax Peninsula Planning Advisory Committee advises Halifax and West Community Council on planning strategies, land use by-laws and development applications for a specific area within the Halifax peninsula as described in the Terms of Reference. The committee also holds public meetings associated with municipal planning strategy amendment applications as deemed necessary. The Halifax Peninsula Planning Advisory Committee normally meets on the fourth Monday of each month, at 4:00 p.m. Additional public meetings are scheduled as required. Meeting dates and times are subject to change. Check the calendar below, and the agenda (once available) to confirm the exact date and time for each meeting.
