Would you like to speak during Public Participation? 
 

There are two opportunities to sign up as a speaker for in-person Public Participation:

Option 1: Register in advance

Zoom is available as an option for pre-registered speakers only.

Contact the Municipal Clerk's Office no later than 4:30 p.m. on July 15, 2024:
-    Send an email to lovasia@halifax.ca If you’re signing up via email and you don’t receive a response from us within one business day, phone our office at 902-490-4210 to confirm receipt. Please ensure you check your email’s junk/spam folder regularly.

-    Fax 902.490.4208 and include a call back phone number or email

In your message, state that you wish to speak during Public Participation at the July 16, 2024 Halifax and West Community Council meeting, and give your name and community of residence, and whether you wish to speak in person or speak using Zoom.

Option 2: During the meeting

During the meeting, after all the pre-registered speakers have been called, the Chair will call three times to ask if there is anyone else present who would like to speak. If you are present in the meeting room you can indicate your wish to speak at that time.

Motion:
That Halifax and West Community Council:

1. Approve the proposed development agreement, which shall be substantially of the same form as set out in Attachment A of the supplementary staff report dated June 26, 2024; and

2. Require the development agreement be signed by the property owner within 120 days, or any extension thereof granted by Council on request of the property owner, from the date of final approval by Council and any other bodies as necessary, including applicable appeal periods, whichever is later; otherwise this approval will be void and obligations arising hereunder shall be at an end.

14.1.1 PLANAPP 2024-00240: Substantive Amendment to Development Agreement for 6324 & 6330 Quinpool Road, Halifax [PDF]
Motion:
That Halifax and West Community Council give notice of motion to consider the proposed amending development agreement, as set out in Attachment A of the staff report dated June 26, 2024, to allow a two-storey addition to the eight-storey building under construction at 6324 & 6330 Quinpool Road, Halifax, and schedule a public hearing.

14.2 HERITAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE 
14.2.1 Case 24359: Development Agreement for 2537-39 Agricola Street, Halifax for a 27.3m mixed-use addition to a registered heritage property [Large 15 Mb PDF]
Motion:
That Halifax and West Community Council give notice of motion to consider the proposed development agreement, as set out in Attachment A of the staff report dated May 3, 2024, to enable the construction of a 27.3m mixed-use addition to the registered heritage property located at 2539 Agricola Street, with amendments to the second sentence of section 3.5.5 of the proposed development agreement to read “Furthermore, any elevator enclosure shall be subject to the requirements of the Regional Center Land Use By-law, as amended from time to time,” and schedule a public hearing.
