ORDINANCE 126
RESPECTING TRAIN WHISTLES
BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Halifax, under the authority of Section 354(n) of the Halifax City Charter, 1963, and Section 248 (2) of the Railway Act, being Chapter R-2 of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1970, as follows:
1. The sounding of any engine whistle in accordance with the provisions of Section 248 (2) of the Railway Act, in respect of the following highway crossings within the limits of the City of Halifax, is hereby prohibited:
Howe Avenue - Mile 0.34 Chester Subdivision
Bayers Road - Mile 0.70 Chester Subdivision
Dutch Village Road - Mile 0.92 Chester Subdivision
Springvale Avenue - Mile 1.21 Chester Subdivision
Barrington Street - Mile 0.15 Willow Park Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Lady Hammond Road - Mile 1.20 Willow Park Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Commission Street - Mile 1.25 Willow Park Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Kempt Road - Mile 1.87 Willow Park Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Young Street - Mile 1.99 Willow Park Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Young Street - Mile 1.99 (near Kempt Road) Willow Park Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Almon Street - Mile 2.24 Willow Park Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Barrington Street - Mile 0.50 Deep Water Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Barrington Street - Mile 1.36 Deep Water Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Upper Water Street - Mile 3.05 Deep Water Branch - Bedford Subdivision
Lower Water Street - Mile 3.35 Deep Water Branch - Bedford Subdivision
2. Ordinance No. 126, respecting Train Whistles, as approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs on the 18th day of September, A.D., 1970, is hereby repealed.
3. This Ordinance shall come into force if and when approved by an Order of the Railway Transport Committee of the Canadian Transport Commission.
