Update on missing person

The Halifax Regional Police would like to inform the media and members of the public that John Chase who was reported missing from the Nova Scotia Hospital – Mayflower Unit Monday,  has been located safe and sound in Amherst yesterday and has now been returned to the NS Hospital.

Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a man reported missing from  the Nova Scotia Hospital – Mayflower Unit.

Twenty-nine year old John Chase was reported missing to police at 6:37 p.m. on Monday, May 19, he was last seen at 12:00 p.m. when he left the facility. 

Mr. Chase is described as a white male, 5’ 9”, 217 lbs, he has dark hair and a bushy beard. He was last seen wearing a black hat, t-shirt, black pants, he was carrying a back pack and a guitar.

As a result of the on-going investigation, police have re-traced the steps of Mr. Chase and now have information that leads police to believe that Mr. Chase now represents a danger to himself.

Halifax Regional Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of John Chase to contact police at 490-5016.
