Halifax Regional Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Saturday August 13, at the intersection of Victoria Road and Albro Lake Road, Dartmouth resulting in the roadway being shut down for an extended period of time.
At 735pm a 68-year-old female was driving south on Victoria Road, when she drove through a red light at the intersection of Victoria Road and Albro Lake Road. A 31-year-old male was travelling east on Albro Lake Road, proceeded through the green light colliding into the rear passenger side of the other vehicle causing it to roll over on its roof. The female driver was taken to hospital as a precaution where it was determined that she did not suffer any injuries. The male driver of the truck was uninjured.
The 68-year-old female driver was issued a summary offence ticket under Section 93(2)(e) of the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to stop at red light.
