As a result of a continued investigation, new information has emerged in the investigation involving a man who was stabbed on October 6. 

Investigators in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have laid charges against the 27-year-old man involved in this incident. 

Originally described as the victim in this matter, investigators have charged a 27-year-old Halifax man with forcible confinement, assault and theft. The accused had a bail hearing earlier this afternoon and has been released with conditions from custody.  He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.

The 25-year-old woman involved in this incident has been released without charges.

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a report of an assault with a weapon during the early morning hours of October 6, 2018.

At approximately 2:22 a.m. police responded to a call involving a 26-year-old man located on Inglis Street at Tower Road reporting he had been stabbed. The victim reported the stabbing had occurred in Point Pleasant Park after an altercation with a woman known to him.  A 25-year-old female suspect was taken into custody. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been treated and released.

The investigation is continuing.
