At approximately 4:47 a.m. on July 28, officers responded to a residence in the 0-100 block of Alderney Drive to the report of a man who had been assaulted. Police learned that the 60-year-old victim was assaulted with what is believed to be a piece of wood. The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Members of the Forensic Identification Section, and investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division in conjunction with members of the Patrol Division are currently investigating the matter, and seeking the whereabouts of the suspect. The suspect and the victim are known to each other and it is believed that this is an isolated incident at this time.
