UPDATE: One adult male is in custody after police responded to a barricaded person call in Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police were on scene at a barricaded person call in Dartmouth.
At approximately 5:37 p.m. on January 11, police responded to an apartment building on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth for a report of a male inside his apartment who was causing damage and was armed with a knife. When police went to speak to the male at the apartment he refused to open the door and indicated to police he was armed with a knife.
A number of officers were on scene, including crisis negotiators and members of the Emergency Response Team.
At approximately 10:08 p.m, police took a 30-year-old man into custody.
The investigation is still in its preliminary stages and further information will be released when available.
