Deadline approaching: Call for Volunteers – Municipal Boards and Committees

Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking interested residents for a variety of important Regional Council advisory committees and boards.

The deadline to apply for volunteer roles on the committees is fast approaching. Citizens interested in connecting with the community are encouraged to apply for these opportunities no later than Friday, Feb. 16.

Volunteer opportunities (and the number of positions currently open):

  • Board of Police Commissioners (1 position)
  • Design Review Committee (requires an architect)
  • Halifax Dartmouth Bridge Commission (1 position)
  • Halifax Port Authority (1 position)
  • Regional Watersheds Advisory Board (up to four positions)
  • Western Common Advisory Committee (2 positions)

For more information on these volunteer opportunities, including eligibility requirements, residents can visit halifax.ca/city-hall/boards-committees-commissions/volunteer-boards-committees or call the Municipal Clerk’s Office at 902-490-4210 during regular business hours, Monday to Friday.
