On August 7 around 3:40 p.m., HRP patrol members responded to a robbery involving a knife at a residence in the 1000 block of South Park Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, police learned that the suspect, an 18-year-old man, had fled the victim’s residence on foot leaving the 62-year-old male victim injured with stab wounds. The victim, who was robbed of some personal items, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was located and arrested a short time later by officers in the Gottingen Street area. The victim and suspect are known to one another. The investigation has been taken over by the General Investigation Section and is ongoing at this time. The suspect is still in custody and is expected to be charged with robbery, aggravated assault and weapons related offences.
