Halifax Regional Police will hold a Police Week event on Thursday, May 18 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth. The event gives the public an opportunity to meet officers and learn first-hand about the work of various specialized HRP units such as the Mounted Unit, Forensic Identification Section and the Public Safety Unit.
Sunday marked the beginning of National Police Week (#NPW2023), an initiative from the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) to encourage new connections between police and the communities they serve. This year, National Police Week will run from May 14 to 20 and its campaign theme is “Committed to Serve”.
“We look forward to National Police Week and activities in our region each year,” said HRP Chief Dan Kinsella. “It’s another opportunity for us to connect in-person with the community members we serve, answer their questions and share information about the services we provide.”
