Police have charged a man who has been deemed a high-risk to reoffend with breaching the conditions of his court order.

On September 20, 2021, in accordance with the Nova Scotia Release of High-Risk Offender Information Protocol, Halifax Regional Police advised the public that a high-risk offender was residing in the Halifax area. Jeffrey Daniel MacIntyre, 30, was released from a correctional facility after completing a sentence for possession of child pornography and breach of a recognizance. MacIntyre has a previous conviction for sexual offences against a child including luring a child, sexual assault and possession of child pornography.

MacIntyre was subject to an order that requires him to follow strict condition, and police have been regularly monitoring his compliance with these conditions. On September 23 at approximately 9 p.m. officers arrested MacIntyre in Halifax when they found him to be breaching the conditions of the order. MacIntyre had been in a shopping centre, obtained a cell phone and was using the cell phone to access pornography.

MacIntyre is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face five counts of breaching a court order.
