Today, Halifax Regional Police issued the following statement in relation to the unsealing of documents in the Glen Assoun matter:
As key participants in the judicial process, we respect Justice Chipman’s decision today to lift the sealing order and publication ban in relation to the Glen Assoun matter.
As intervenors, HRP sought to redact information that would not normally be part of the public record or could negatively impact other investigations. This formed only a small portion of sealed documents.
Due to the potential for future legal processes, we will not be commenting further. Our thoughts remain with Brenda Way’s family.
