Police investigate robberies

At approximately 9 p.m. officers responded to a robbery at the Circle K gas station located at 2499 Robie Street in Halifax. The man entered the store and demanded money and cigarettes while brandishing a knife. The suspect left the store empty-handed and fled on foot toward Charles Street. The employee was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build. At the time of the incident the suspect was wearing black clothing and a ski mask.

At approximately 9:35 p.m. officers responded to a robbery at Highfield Video & Variety located at 94 Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. The man entered the store and demanded money while brandishing a knife. The suspect left the store with an amount of cash and fled the area on foot toward Joseph Young Street. The employee was not physically injured.

The suspect in this incident is believed to be the same suspect involved in the earlier robbery. The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build. At the time of the incident the man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black gloves, a ski mask and carrying a red reusable bag.
