On May 6, at approximately 7:47 a.m., emergency personal responded to the 600 block of Herring Cove Road to a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival members located a vehicle that had struck a utility pole and fence. The sole occupant of the vehicle was the driver and was located by the Halifax Regional Police K-9 Unit a short distance from the incident. The adult male driver will appear in court at a later date to face charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, Section 253(1)(A), and failing to remain at the scene, Section 252 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
