Wednesday, June 3, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that preparatory work began today, June 3, on Main Street in Dartmouth to extend the natural gas main in the area.
Crews are currently working on Main Street between Gordon and Hartlen streets. There is a lane drop in place and motorists could experience some delays.
The pipe installation will begin tomorrow, June 4, on the same section of Main Street. Crews are expected to maintain two-way traffic at all times; however, there will be lane drops in place and motorists should expect some delays.
No work will take place during the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This work is expected to take approximately one week, with permanent restoration of the roadway to follow.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible while this work is underway. Heritage Gas and the municipality regret any inconvenience this work may cause.
