Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a man in relation to a fire that occurred last week in Halifax.
At 12:45 a.m. on December 22, officers responded to a report of suspicious boat fire in a boat yard in the 500 block of Purcell’s Cove Road. Halifax Fire had responded earlier, deemed the fire suspicious and notified police. Video was obtained from the area earlier in the evening which showed two vehicles approach the boat yard and then leave a short time later when the fire can be seen in the boat.
At 10:45 p.m. on December 29 at a residence on Beaufort Drive in Cole Harbour, 42-year-old Jason Michael Montgomery was arrested without incident. He was held in custody overnight and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face a charge of arson.
