Fall is a great time of year to make waste reduction part of your daily routine.

Curbside Give Away Weekend, Oct. 14 & 15

Curbside Give Away is a great opportunity to get rid of your under-used items. Follow these simple steps to participate in the Curbside Give Away:

Clearly mark all items with a “FREE” sign at the curb in front of your home.
Share your finds and connect with other treasure hunters on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #hfxcurbside.
Post your items on the Interactive Map or Facebook event.
Unclaimed items must be removed from the curb by dusk on Sunday.
Items left at the curb can result in a By-Law violation.
Place any garbage for collection on your regular garbage day and week. Regular limits and preparation is required.
This event happens rain or shine so use your discretion when deciding whether to put items out to the curb. Don’t forget that many charitable organizations accept donations of textiles and household items year-round and many offer a convenient pick-up service - www.afterwear.ca.
