To minimize potential damage to municipal streets and roads, the Halifax Regional Municipality will introduce its annual spring weight restrictions, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, March 2.
These restrictions are for heavy vehicles travelling on municipally maintained roads. Regular weight tolerances apply on exempt roads.
The weight restrictions are expected to remain in place into the spring, at which time the municipality will issue a PSA advising the restrictions are lifted.
The municipality’s spring weight restrictions are consistent with those of the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (NSTIR). Details of vehicle restrictions can be found online at http://novascotia.ca/tran/trucking/springweight.asp.

Afin de réduire au minimum les dommages éventuels causés aux rues et aux routes municipales, la Municipalité régionale d’Halifax instaurera ses restrictions annuelles de poids au printemps, à compter de 12 h 10 le lundi 2 mars.
Ces restrictions s’appliquent aux véhicules lourds circulant sur les routes entretenues par la municipalité. Des tolérances de poids ordinaires s’appliquent sur les routes exemptées.
Les restrictions de poids devraient demeurer en vigueur tout au long du printemps, jusqu’au moment où la municipalité émettra un avis d’intérêt public indiquant que les restrictions sont levées.
Les restrictions de poids au printemps de la municipalité sont conformes à celles du ministère des Transports et du Renouvellement de l’infrastructure de la Nouvelle-Écosse.
