Today marked the grand re-opening of the Musquodoboit Harbour Recreation Centre and Library.

The Halifax Regional Municipality and Halifax Public Libraries are pleased to advise that renovation work on the library, community centre and fitness centre which began in June has been completed. The refurbished facility creates a more vibrant, modern, energy efficient and accessible space for residents.

”Creating a dynamic space for our community to gather is so important” said Mary Angela Munro, Area Coordinator of Parks and Recreation with the Halifax Regional Municipality. “We’re very excited about the improvements and look forward to providing residents with a facility that will serve their needs for many years to come.”

One of the many benefits of the renovated facility is an enhanced library space that helps integrate access to services and better meet community needs.

“I can’t wait to share the new and improved library with Musquodoboit Harbour residents,” said Åsa Kachan, Chief Librarian and CEO of Halifax Public Libraries. “The renovations reflect what community members told us was important to them, and we look forward to this Library being a space that gathers people together for fun, learning, and community building.”
