New arrest in Devon Sinclair Marsman homicide

A fifth person has been arrested in connection with the homicide of Devon Sinclair Marsman.

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at approximately 7:35 a.m., 40-year-old Mark Douglas Robert Doyle was arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.

Doyle will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges.

Devon was last seen on February 24, 2022, in the Spryfield area of Halifax. On September 17, 2024, police announced that Devon had been the victim of a homicide and began laying charges.

Treyton Marsman, 26, has been charged with:

  • Second degree murder
  • Indignity to human remains
  • Obstructing justice

A 20-year-old man who was a youth at the time of the murder has been charged with:

  • Accessory after the fact to murder
  • Obstructing justice

Emma Maria Meta Casey, 23, has been charged with:

  • Accessory after the fact to murder
  • Indignity to human remains
  • Obstructing justice

Chelsey Herritt, 26, has been charged with:

  • Accessory after the fact to murder
  • Indignity to human remains

Last week, remains found through the course of the investigation were confirmed to belong to Devon Sinclair Marsman.

Police continue to keep Devon’s family, friends and loved ones in their thoughts.

The investigation remains open. Investigators believe there are people who have information who have not yet spoken to police. Anyone with information about Devon Sinclair Marsman’s homicide is asked to call police at 902-490-5020.
