New datasets available on Open Data

The Halifax Regional Municipality has released one new dataset on Open Data, as part of an ongoing commitment to provide public access to data created and managed by the municipality. The new dataset includes:

The addition of this dataset brings the total number of Open Data datasets to 244.

The following existing datasets have been modified:

  • Commuter Permit Parking Streets
    • A new field called COMMUTER PERMIT is being added to the dataset to better identify commuter parking
  • PPL&C Building Permits
    • New fields are being added called INSPECTION OUTCOME to provide more insight into the inspection data and OVERALL BUILDING HEIGHT which has been frequently requested. Also, the dataset is being changed from refreshed weekly to daily.
  • PPL&C Building Permits Geolocated
    • New fields are being added called INSPECTION OUTCOME to provide more insight into the inspection data and OVERALL BUILDING HEIGHT which has been frequently requested.  
  • PPL&C Construction Permits
    • A new field is being added called INSPECTION OUTCOME to provide more insight into the inspection data. Also, the dataset is being changed from refreshed weekly to daily.
  • PPL&C Construction Permits Geolocated
    • A new field is being added called INSPECTION OUTCOME to provide more insight into the inspection data. 
  • PPL&C Engineering Permits
    • A new field is being added called INSPECTION OUTCOME to provide more insight into the inspection data. Also, the dataset is being changed from refreshed weekly to daily.
  • PPL&C Engineering Permits Geolocated
    • A new field is being added called INSPECTION OUTCOME to provide more insight into the inspection data. 
  • PPL&C Halifax Water PermitsA new field is being added called INSPECTION OUTCOME to provide more insight into the
    • inspection data. Also, the dataset is being changed from refreshed weekly to daily.
  • PPL&C Halifax Water Permits Geolocated
    • A new field is being added called INSPECTION OUTCOME to provide more insight into the inspection data. 
  • PPL&C Issued Public Works ROW Permits
    • The dataset refresh frequency is being updated from weekly to daily
  • PPL&C Land Use Approvals Permits
    • A new permit type called LAND-LEASE COMMUNITY PERMIT is being added. Also, the dataset is being changed from refreshed weekly to daily.
  • PPL&C Land Use Approvals Permits Geolocated
    • A new permit type called LAND-LEASE COMMUNITY PERMIT is being added.

 A wide range of data can be sourced for free through the catalogue, such as transit routes and schedule data, solid waste collection schedules, and area rates. New data releases occur several times throughout the year, with the most recent release on April 3, 2024. 

The Open Data initiative was launched in early 2014 to help improve resident engagement and enhance transparency on municipal data. The program was formalized by Regional Council later that year through the adoption of Administrative Order 2014-006-ADM Respecting Open Data

De nouveaux ensembles de données disponibles sur Open Data

Mercredi 15 mai 2024 (Halifax, Nouvelle-Écosse) – La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax a publié un nouvel ensemble de données sur Données ouvertes, dans le cadre d’un engagement continu à fournir au public un accès aux données créées et gérées par la municipalité. Le nouvel ensemble de données comprend :

L’ajout de cet ensemble de données porte le nombre total des ensembles de données ouvertes à 244.

Les ensembles de données existants suivants ont été modifiés :

Un large éventail de données peut être obtenu gratuitement via le catalogue, telles que les itinéraires et les horaires de transport en commun, les calendriers de collecte des déchets solides et les tarifs régionaux. De nouvelles diffusions de données ont lieu plusieurs fois au cours de l'année, la plus récente ayant eu lieu le 3 avril 2024.  

L'initiative sur les données ouvertes a été lancée au début de 2014 afin d'améliorer la mobilisation des résidents et d'accroître la transparence des données municipales. Le programme a été officialisé par le conseil régional plus tard dans l'année par l'adoption de l'arrêté administratif 2014-006-ADM sur les données ouvertes.
