Following an investigation by the General Investigation Section, a man was arrested and charged in connection with a robbery that took place in Halifax this past March.
On March 7 at approximately 4 p.m., a man entered the Guardian Pharmacy at 6199 Coburg Road, went behind the pharmacy counter where he produced a knife and demanded cash and drugs before fleeing. The suspect fled on foot on Lemarchant Street with a quantity of cash and drugs. None of the staff in the store were injured.
On July 1, at 8:30 a.m., members of the High-risk Enforcement Action Team of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division arrested 32-year-old Charles Russell Clarke of Campbellford Ontario without incident at a correctional facility in Milton Ontario. He was transported back to Halifax that day and was held in custody for the weekend. He is to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of a probation order.
