Police are advising the public about an incident of trespass at night that occurred late last night in Halifax.
On August 29 at 11:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to a call of a man peering into the window of a house in the 6100 block of Willow Street. When officers arrived, they observed a man looking into a window but when they identified themselves as police, the man jumped over a fence and was last seen running toward Clifton Street. Officers searched the area with K-9 members but efforts to locate the man were negative.
The complainants reported to police that this is the second incident of a prowler outside their residence, as they believe they observed the same man looking in their window several weeks ago but didn’t report the matter to police.
The suspect is described as a man with tanned skin, approximately 30-years-old. Last night, he was wearing a dark green or black zippered jacket or sweater with a hood, black gym shorts and white running shoes.
Police are asking residents to be mindful of activity in their neighbourhoods and report suspicious activity to police. Please do not confront anyone acting suspiciously but do attempt to obtain as much descriptive information as possible, including, but not limited to, gender, complexion, age, build, height, hair color and length, clothing description as well as where the person was last seen and their direction of travel.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact police at 902-490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or texting a tip - Tip 202 + your message to 274637.
