Police have charged a man in relation to entering two residences under false pretenses this weekend in Halifax.
At approximately 4:40 p.m. police were called to an apartment building in the 200 block of the Bedford Highway in relation to a man who pretended to be a representative of the building’s management and was there to do an inspection of the apartment. The tenant initially let the man in but became uncomfortable with the man’s behaviour. When she called to verify the man’s identity, he left the apartment.
While on scene officers received a second report that a man pretended to be with building management and was there to do an inspection of the apartment. In this incident the man assaulted the tenant when she asked him to leave.
The suspect was arrested in the area a short time later without further incident.
Samuel Boimah McGill, 24, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face two counts of being unlawfully in a dwelling-house and one count of assault.
