Police have charged a man in relation to a stabbing that occurred in Dartmouth on the weekend.
On August 29 at approximately 2:40 a.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of 588 Portland Street. Officers located a 57-year-old male cab driver who had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital for treatment of what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Two men, who were passengers in the cab, were taken into custody in the area without incident. One of the men was later released without charges.
Robert Joseph Richards, 34, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face a charge of aggravated assault.
