Police charge man for robbery
Police have charged a man for two robberies that occurred in Dartmouth on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. on March 24, 2022 police responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the Royal Bank located at 44 Portland Street. A man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding cash. No weapon was seen and the man left empty-handed and fled on foot.
At approximately 2:26 p.m. police responded to another report of a robbery that had occurred at the Bank of Montreal located at 21 Micmac Boulevard. A man matching the same description entered the bank and passed a note to the teller which stated he wanted cash and that he had a weapon. No weapon was observed and the man left empty-handed and fled the area on foot where he was apprehended by police shortly after.
No staff members or members of the public where injured during either incident.
The 68-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face two charges of robbery.
