Police charge two men in weapons call
Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged two men in connection with a weapons call that occurred yesterday afternoon in Dartmouth.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on October 18, police responded to a weapons call at an apartment in the 200 block of Roleika Drive. The man advised that he heard loud banging at his door and two male voices yelling. When he looked through the peep hole, he saw two men known to him, with one of the men holding what he believed to be a gun. The men were yelling threats and repeatedly kicking the door. The men eventually left and returned to another apartment in the same building.
Patrol members evacuated some of the neighbouring apartments and then attended the apartment the suspects were seen entering. At approximately 2:40 p.m., three men and a woman exited the apartment and all were arrested without incident. They were transported to police headquarters to be interviewed.
A search was executed on the apartment where the suspects were located and an imitation firearm was found and seized.
Police have charged 22-year-old Alexander Kenneth Pritchett of Westphal with one count each of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, uttering threats and breach of probation. Pritchett is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
Police have also charged 21-year-old Spencer Dilan Pritchett of Westphal with one count of uttering threats. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on November 28.
The other 19-year-old man and 18-year-old woman, both from Dartmouth, were not charged in relation to this incident and were released.
