Police have charged a man and a woman in relation to two robberies and a break and enter that occurred in Dartmouth over the last month.
On August 19 at approximately 1:20 a.m. police received a report of a robbery that had occurred at the Irving Oil service station located at 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. A woman entered the store and demanded money from the employee. The suspect fled in a white Dodge Ram truck with an amount of money. There were no reported injuries and no weapon was seen.
On August 25 at approximately 11:25 p.m. police received a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence in the 100 block of Albro Lake Road in Dartmouth. Two men and a woman forced open a door and confronted the resident who was home at the time. The suspects, who are believed to be known to the resident, fled on foot when the resident called for help.
On September 10 at approximately 2 a.m. police received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Irving Oil service station located at 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. A woman entered the store and demanded money and cigarettes from the employee. The suspect fled in a silver Honda Element with an amount of money and cigarettes. There were no reported injuries and no weapon was seen.
Responding officers located the suspect vehicle, activated their emergency lights and siren, but the driver refused to stop. When the vehicle did pull over, police arrested the driver and two passengers without incident. The two passengers were released without charges.
Makeeda Rondelle Dawkins, 29, of Dartmouth appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court yesterday to face charges of:
- Robbery (x 2)
- Flight from a peace officer in a motor vehicle
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance
- Break and enter
- Disguise with intent
Joseph Wayne Bowser, 31, of Dartmouth has been charged with break and enter and uttering threats. He appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court yesterday to face the charges.
