Police are continuing to investigate property damage at the Halifax Public Gardens that occurred earlier this year.
On July 26, police responded to a report of damage to multiple trees within the gardens that occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on July 25 and 7 a.m. on July 26. Approximately 30 trees, many of which range from 50 to 200 years old, were damaged.
The incident remains under investigation by members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators have been working closely with stakeholders and thank citizens who have come forward with information to assist the investigation.
Until the end of the year, the Friends of the Public Gardens is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
