Impaired Driving Charge

Police have charged a man for impaired driving following a collision overnight 

At 12:47 a.m., police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of North Street and Creighton Street in Halifax. A pickup truck left the roadway, sheared a power pole and came to a rest against a residence. The vehicle sustained extensive damages but there were no reported damages to the residence. The 42-year-old driver was not injured and was arrested at the scene for impaired operation of a conveyance. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date. 

North Street remains closed to all traffic between Creighton Street and Maynard Street while Nova Scotia Power replaces the broken power pole, the road closure is expected to continue throughout the morning.
