On April 13 at 1:55 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a group in a physical altercation near the intersection of Portland Street and Prince Arthur Avenue, Dartmouth. Multiple patrol officers along with a K-9 responded. Officers were flagged down by an injured man reporting he was stabbed. Minutes later officers located a second man with injuries consistent with a stabbing. The Police Service Dog then tracked to a residence in the 0-50 block of Hastings Drive, where officers located a third injured man with a non-life-threatening injury to his hand. All three injured men have been transported to the hospital and police are not looking for any other suspects. Investigators believed the men are known to one another. Multiple officers are currently on scene, including Forensic Identification members.

All vehicle traffic on Portland Street between Lakefront Road and Gaston Road is blocked and will remain closed for an extended period of time.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.
