Police investigate an Assault with a Weapon GO#21-9118

On January 21 at 10:14 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an injured man who was bleeding from the head and running in the 0-50 block of Jackson Road, Dartmouth. Patrol officers located a 34-year-old man with life threatening injuries consistent with being hit with a blunt object. The man was transported to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. Officers were able to identify and locate the suspect at a nearby residence. At 10:31 p.m., officers arrested a 58-year-old man without incident. 

Investigators with the General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stage.

The suspect is held for court and is facing the following Criminal Code charges; Attempted Murder, Assault with a weapon, and Aggravated Assault.
