Police investigate assault with weapon GO#20-77453

On July 8 at approximately 12:20 a.m., Halifax Regional Police were called to the bus terminal located on Nantucket Avenue, Dartmouth regarding a 30-year-old male who had been assaulted with an edged weapon. Police learned that he was involved in an altercation in the area of Inglis Street and Queen Street in Halifax between 8:30 p.m. and midnight on July 7. He then took a Halifax Transit bus to Dartmouth where members of the public saw his wound and called police.

During the altercation he suffered a non-life-threatening wound. He has been treated for his injury. The investigation is ongoing, and the incident is not believed to be random. There is no suspect description available at this time.
