Police are investigating the death of a man that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. police were called to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Carrington Place. A man and woman who were known to each other were in an altercation during which the man fell from a balcony. Aid was provided to the man, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation. Additionally, as per protocol when a death has occurred during police actions, the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) has been notified. There does not have to be an allegation of wrongdoing. SiRT has invoked their mandate and are currently investigating.  No further details are available at this time.

Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.
