Police investigate found human remains GO#21-29884

UPDATE: Police have now cleared the scene on Elliott Street in Dartmouth, following human remains found in the area yesterday. 

We would like to thank members of the public and local residents for their patience as police completed their work in the area during this period, and we recognize this has come as disturbing news for the community. No further updates are available on this matter at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

On March 12 at approximately 10:30 a.m. today police received a report of what was believed to be human remains in a wooded area near Elliott Street in Dartmouth. Police located the remains at that location and the Medical Examiner's Office have confirmed them to be human.

Investigators from the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating and as the investigation is in the early stages no further information is available at this time.
