Update

Officers remain on scene at 24 Primrose Street in Dartmouth and we anticipate the street will remain closed to traffic until 5 p.m.

The investigation is in the early stages. Investigators do not believe this to be a random act and we do not have anyone in custody at this time.

On October 22 at 6:27 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a Weapons Call and an injured man in the 0-50 block of Primrose Street, Dartmouth. Multiple officers responded to the scene and located man with life threatening injuries. The area was blocked to traffic for a period of time.   

On October 23 shortly after 1:00 a.m., the victim, a 25-year-old man passed away. The name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The investigation is now a Homicide. Currently, there is no suspect(s) information. 

Investigators with the Major Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Unit are conducting the investigation.
