Police investigate robberies

Halifax Regional Police is investigating two robberies that occurred in Halifax last night.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. officers responded to a robbery that occurred at the KFC located at 18 Titus Street in Halifax. A man entered the restaurant brandishing a knife and demanded the employee open the till. The suspect fled the area on foot empty-handed toward the Bluenose Mini Mart. The employee was not physically injured.

At approximately 10 p.m. officers responded to a second robbery at Nayya Pizza, located at 3506 Dutch Village Road in Halifax. The suspect approached staff and attempted to take money from the till. The employee was not physically injured.

In both incidents, the suspect is described as a white man, 30 to 40-years-old and approximately 5’7” tall weighing approximately 170 lbs. At the time of the incidents, the suspect was wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, a black beanie and sunglasses.
