Police investigate robbery

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Sunday morning in Halifax.

At approximately 6:38 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Petro Canada gas station located at 7015 Bayers Road in Halifax. A man approached the store, broke the locked glass door with a blunt object, entered the store and threatened staff while demanding money and cigarettes. He fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes. The clerk was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his thirties with a tattoo on his right upper cheek, approximately 5'9" tall, with a thin build. He was wearing blue overalls with reflective stripes and a gray Carhartt sweatshirt. He was last seen fleeing on foot carrying a green reusable bag.
