Police investigate robbery GO#20-60279

On May 28 at 2:56 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery in-progress at the Birch Cove Irving located at 389 Bedford Highway, Halifax. The suspect used a knife during the incident. There were no injuries reported.

The suspect is described to police as being a white man, with a shaved head, wearing a blue hat, Brooklyn NY sweater, grey khakis and blue/brown boots. He also had a homemade non-medical grade grey face mask, clear plastic gloves and was carrying an old Sobeys bag. The suspect left with cartons of cigarettes and cash from the till. He was last seen leaving the area on foot, heading towards the Wedgewood Motel. The Canine (K9) Unit was dispatched to the scene and completed a search.

At the time of this release, multiple police units assisted with scene containment and the search of the suspect. Residents in the area were asked to avoid this area, while the search was being conducted. At this time, the area is all clear.
