Police investigate robbery GO#20-92870

On August 12 at 2:51 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Irving Service Station located at 5450 Inglis Street, Halifax. A lone man entered the station and produced a knife to the employee stating, “He didn’t want to hurt him he just wants the money.”

The suspect went behind the counter, he took money from the till and cigarettes from a drawer. The employee was not injured. The suspect left and was last seen in the parking lot. Police determined that the suspect got into a taxi after the robbery and was dropped off at Cornwallis Street and Gottingen Street.   

The suspect is described to police as a white man, between the ages of 30 to 40 years-old, he is believed to be 5’5” to 5’6” in height, with a stocky build and might be approximately 200 lbs. He was wearing a black Under Armour hoodie with the hood pulled up over his head, a black mask, grayish/black pants and black shoes. The suspect was carrying a green backpack.

Multiple police units attended the scene and are actively looking for the suspect at this time. The investigation will be assigned to the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
