Police investigate taxi robbery GO#2019-74599

On May 28, 2019 at 11:38 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery of a taxi driver in the area of the 6000 block of Young Street, Halifax. A man got into the back seat of the taxi posing as a fare. The suspect then put a knife to the taxi driver’s throat and demanded cash. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash to a waiting vehicle described as a dark sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala. The taxi driver was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described to police as a white male with black hair, 6’2” tall, around 25 years of age, wearing a light weight red summer jacket and black jeans.
