Police investigate weapons call

On June 16, 2023, at 7:47 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a physical disturbance between teenagers in the 200 block of Chain Lake Drive, Halifax.

Patrol officers responded and located a 15-year-old girl inside a business, with a non-life-threatening injury, consistent with a stab wound. Police also located and arrested a 15-year-old girl. The suspect and victim are known to one another and police are not looking for any other suspects.  The injured girl has been transported to the hospital.

Investigators with Patrol and the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is on-going. The suspect is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and will appear in Halifax court at a later date.
